Luigi Einaudi's theoretical analysis between law and economics

Please note that the job is no longer active!

The research aims to explore the relationship between law and economics in Einaudi’s thought. He had insisted on the importance of an interdisciplinary approach to social problems. Nevertheless, the fact that his reflection is imbued with legal words, metaphors and categories, has not received due attention. Emblematic in this regard is the notion of 'dogma' that he proposed to borrow from the legal dogmatics in order to conceive the construction of the 'schemata' of economic science. Equally significant is the fact that some of his most important epistemological reflections have matured from public discussion or correspondence with the supporters of a legal, political or sociological approach to Public Finance, as well as with legal scholars or legal philosophers. The research should reconstruct Einaudi’s speculation with reference to the above mentioned issues and debates, and enquiry if and why his epistemology is the common ground between law and economics.
