Earthquake-induced pounding between adjacent existing buildings

Please note that the job is no longer active!

The proposed project deals with the topic of earthquake-induced pounding between adjacent existing buildings. Observing interactions between neighbouring during severe ground motion in the last fifty years, it emerged that this phenomenon may result in substantial damage or even total destruction of colliding structures. In this framework, the aim of this project is to investigate new methods to evaluate the pounding-involved response between existing buildings. The research activity will include theoretical and numerical analyses. The researcher will propose an analytical model able to simulate the lateral-torsional pounding between two or more multi-storey buildings and will perform numerical analyses in non-linear field

Please note that the full description may be available in the national language since some job boards have their own publication policy. Thank you for your understanding!
