Introduction to the Digital lithic fabrication

This research project, according to the research field of the Department of Civil Engineering and Architecture (DICAR) which deals with the history and construction techniques of the Mediterranean architecture, is aimed to the analysis of the historical and cultural identities, linked with the stone architectures, focusing on the relationship between form and construction and, in detail, on the use of the cut stone in the architectural elements.

The goal is to use the digital fabrication method and the parametric design method (Rhino, Grasshopper) in order to propose an update of techniques and methods of design and construction using the stone. The project is aimed to use tools of empowerment in order to create a platform of experimentation and theoretical production with the production sectors, allowing the co-design of codes, practices and methods.

Please note that the full description may be available in the national language since some job boards have their own publication policy. Thank you for your understanding!
