The goal of this program is to move a step toward the realistic application of systems biology methods to drug targets discovery. We focus on two specific problems which are of high relevance for drug targets discovery:
Protein functions annotation. Protein annotation is in general a complex problem requiring the integration of several heterogeneous information available in public accessible repositories or derived through complex computational models.
Regulatory network analysis and simulation: regulatory networks describe proteins dynamically interact during different biological activities. Being able to: (1) model, (2) analyze and (3) simulate the dynamic activity of the network will provide a very valuable support to any drug discovery activity.
We aim at integrating developed systems biology methods into an open Cloud platform thus building a valuable facility for the research community.
