Case-Finding and training to detected unknown HIV and HBV coinfection.

Please note that the job is no longer active!

An effective case finding screening for hepatitis B infection (HepB) in Italy is warranted by the existence of 600,000 infected persons, the majority of whom are unaware of their status, among whom many are immigrants from highly endemic areas. Moreover, of the approximately 150,000 HIV infected persons in Italy, 25% are unaware of their status, with important consequences on individual (increase drisk of progression and death) and public (increased transmission rate) health consequences. The identification of epuidemiological conditions which may trigger a diagnostic test for HIV or HBV can therefore significantly improve our response by increasing the diagnostic capacity among asymptomatic persons. Our project will improve our understanding of the epidemiology of HIV and HBV in a population of persons attending the emergency department of the Spedali Civili di Brescia.

Please note that the full description may be available in the national language since some job boards have their own publication policy. Thank you for your understanding!
