Preparation and characterization of novel model catalysts and supports for cathodes of fuel cells
Please note that the job is no longer active!
The project involves the preparation of innovative model catalysts and supports for fuel cell cathodes to be implemented within the European project CathCat.
Novel catalysts and supports will be synthesized and characterized. The main focus will be on highly active and durable materials for polymer electrolyte membrane fuel cells (PEMFC) for transportation applications in the form of bimetallic alloys (PdxMy, M= Y,Ni), trying to minimize the noble metal content.
The catalyst alloys will be synthesized both in the form of well-defined model compounds as well as in the form of nanoparticles. Both supported nanoparticles and model catalysts will be prepared and characterized using Surface Science approaches, and finally validated by electrochemical tests. The new supports will be based on various carbon substrates doped with heteroatoms, in order to make greater the interaction (and the durability of the electrodes) between the catalyst and the support.
Please note that the full description may be available in the national language since some job boards have their own publication policy. Thank you for your understanding!
