The overall objective of the "Rice connections" project is to better elucidate the connections between drought tolerance, disease resistance and flowering time. The relationships between the three targeted biological pathways will be explored using genetics, genomics, yeast-two-hybrid and cell biology. The project aims i) to elucidate the effect of drought on disease resistance or flowering time ii) to identify genes which expression is synergistically regulated by two biological pathways (regulation nodes) and iii) to identify protein-protein interactions between the targeted biological pathways.
