PhD in advanced physics with coupled light-matter particles in semiconductor nanostructures

Please note that the job is no longer active!

Applications are invited for a PhD position which arises as part of a new project on exciton polaritons.

Exciton polaritons are novel particles which arise from coupling between light and matter (excitons - electron-hole pairs), the coupled light matter particles being termed polaritons. Such polaritons exhibit many novel properties including Bose-Einstein condensation, polariton blockade where the presence of one particle prevents the passage of a second, and fast soliton propagation.
