The position is made available within a TELETHON multicentric study, grant n. GGP12033 (2012-2014). The project objective is to set-up an efficient bio-organic photovoltaic interface, to realize an artificial visual prosthesis. We expect that the polymer-based prosthesis activates retinal ganglion cell activity upon physiological illumination. More specifically, the candidate will be asked to autonomously work in a cell-culture facility, to realize mammalian cell cultures. Preferential title will be the knowledge of electrophysiology techniques. He/she will work in a strongly interdisciplinary research team, composed by engineers, physicists and material scientists, in order to explore different technological solutions for the realization of polymer-based opto-cell interfaces by adoption of simple biological models, namely immortalized cell lines.
