The research is intended to develop and implement distributed hydrologic models for the characterization of surface flows, subsurface flows, and the interaction between them, with the aim to identify the best methods for flood defence and water resources management in an environment affected by demographic, territorial, and climatic changes. The studies will provide guidelines for the identification of possible adaptability measures for flood defence and water resources management under the effects of demographic, territorial, and limatic changes.
