Recent evidence suggests that neurodegenerative diseases, as well as to the interest of the cortical structures, are also characterized by the involvement of bundles of fibers that connect different brain structures. The recent development of advanced techniques i.e. tractography, based on the characteristics of magnetic resonance diffusion, allows to evaluate in vivo in humans the involvement of fiber bundles within the nervous system. In this research project, we intend to study with tractography, the involvement of different fiber bundles that connect cortico-subcortical structures in patients with a disease in which there is, in addition to an inflammatory component, also a neurodegenerative component: multiple sclerosis.
