Application of next generation sequencing platforms for the characterization of the genome and microbiota of livestock species
The research study will be conducted in the laboratory of Livestock Genomics of DISTAL and in the Centre for Genome Biology of the University of Bologna, in collaboration with the genomic platform of the University of Messina. These laboratories have Ion Torrent and Ion Proton instruments that will be used to sequence complete or parts of the genome of livestock species (and wild relatives) and their microbiotas. Appropriate experimental designs will be set up to explore next generation sequencing data obtained with these next generation sequencers. Protocols will be set up to prepare libraries and to analyse data using bioinformatics pipelines for the identification of polymorphisms, sequence assembly and annotation.

Please note that the full description may be available in the national language since some job boards have their own publication policy. Thank you for your understanding!
