D-amino acid oxidase and the modulation of D-serine metabolism in the brain: a potential target for new therapeutical approaches

Please note that the job is no longer active!

This project is aimed to address the processes acting on the “D-amino acid oxidase side” of D-serine metabolism (the enzyme that degrades this neuromodulator). It is focused to investigate the molecular processes (secondary modifications and effectors and protein interaction) entailed in the regulation of the enzyme functionality. The hypothesis is that disclosing the mechanisms that modulate the levels of D-serine by acting on DAAO might result in the identification of new targets for the treatment of pathologies in which the glutamatergic system is affected.

Please note that the full description may be available in the national language since some job boards have their own publication policy. Thank you for your understanding!
