Study of the molecular mechanisms ensuring telomere homeostasis

Please note that the job is no longer active! telomeres are needed to ensure that the natural chromosome ends are faithfully replicated and that they are not mistakenly treated as DNA double-strand breaks. Loss of telomeric sequences or failure of telomeres to mask themselves from recognition as double-strand breaks would have devastating consequences for genome integrity and such telomere-initiated genetic instability can lead to carcinogenesis. The aim of this project is the study of the role of a new protein in the manteinance of telomere homeostasis in the yeast S. cerevisiae.

Please note that the full description may be available in the national language since some job boards have their own publication policy. Thank you for your understanding!
