Evaluation of environmental and individual factors on platelet concentration in horse PRP preparation
Please note that the job is no longer active!
The number of platelets in PRP refers to its quality. The variability in the number of platelets in PRP between preparations from the same individual that is not system dependent could be partially attributed to a number of factors, including hydration status, inflammation status, circadian rhythms and others.
Aim of the project is to define the influence of some parameters on the number of platelets concentrated after preparation. They are: training/ rest; hydration / hyperidration; circadian rhythm; seasonal temperature hot/cold; estrus/diestrus; antinflammatory therapy/no treatment.
These variables will be tested on 6 mares. Samples of blood will be obtained collected in specific bags and PRP prepared and platelet counted.
The data will be used to predict the best individual and emvironmental conditions to collect blood samples in patient for the PRP preparation.
