This project is focused on the investigation of the magnetic properties and electric transport properties of complexes of d and f transition metals. The investigation is performed in view of their use as building blocks of functional molecular materials, whose physical properties depend on the features of the molecules and on their interactions. The candidate will study the magnetic and electric characterization of the new transition metal complexes. The magnetic properties will be studied with the DC and AC magnetometry (SQUID magnetometer) and with the Mössbauer spectroscopy for the Fe and Eu compounds. The electrical transport properties will be investigated by measurements of resistivity with the four probe AC method. The investigation will include compounds in form of thin films and nanoparticles, in view of technological applications in molecular electronics
