"Cultural Autonomies" and "Sectorial Autonomies". Alternating Mechanisms for national diversity managements in East-Central Europe and teh Balkans

Please note that the job is no longer active!

The research will investigate forms of non-territoriality for the management of national minorities in Central Eastern Europe and the Balkans. In particular, it will focus on the XX century developments of non-territoriality proposing: (a) a description of the Austro-Marxist model developed on the basis of the conceptualization put forward by K. Renner and O. Bauer within the framework of the Austro-Hungarian Empire; (b) a comparative investigation of the functioning of the Ottoman Millet system and (c) of alternative models of non-territoriality which have developed in Central-Eastern Europe and in the Balkan area after the First World War. Finally, the research will refer to the conceptualization and functioning of political arrangements today in use in complex multinational systems looking at the contemporary debate and most recent re-elaboration of the idea of non-territoriality and referring, in particular, to the last developments in Central-Eastern Europe and the Balkan region.

Please note that the full description may be available in the national language since some job boards have their own publication policy. Thank you for your understanding!
