European Research Council funded fellowship Encoding and cataloguing of epigraphic and archeological sources related to pre-Islamic South Arabia

The aim of the DASI project is to create a complete web collection of the whole epigraphic documentation of pre-Islamic Arabia, by means of the application of computer technology to the field of epigraphy.

The activity that the applicant is called to perform:

- study and use of text and epigraph encoding standards (TEI, EpiDoc)

- study and use of metadata standards (such as Dublin Core, METS)

- study and use of ontologies (RDF, OWL)

The activity of the applicant will contribute to the achievement of the DASI archive’s goals, and to the realization of a process tool system able to build a dictionary of the pre-Islamic Arabian languages.
