SUBJECT OF 105 YEARS AND BEYOND, A WORLD HERITAGE ': Searching for a metabolomic and epigenetic signature of longevity

Please note that the job is no longer active!

The study of human longevity is a research topic of great importance due to its potential social and economic impact on public health. The 105 + people (semi-centenarians are about 1 out of 25 centenarians and 1 out of 110,000 inhabitants, total about 550 in Italy) are very rare and represent a EXTREME phenotype, a selected population escaped major age-related diseases. In turn, semi-centenarians offspring is a model of genetic predisposition/familial longevity, which may help to identify biomarkers of general interest such as profiles of DNA methylation (which provide information related to the functional expression of the genome during aging) and non-invasive metabolomic profiles (NMR urine) that provide information on the major metabolic pathways.

Please note that the full description may be available in the national language since some job boards have their own publication policy. Thank you for your understanding!
