Marie Curie Actions funded fellowship PhD Fellowships - TS-EUROTRAIN: Marie Curie Initial Training Network for Tourette Syndrome

Please note that the job is no longer active!

We seek energetic researchers to undertake positions as Early Stage Researchers (PhD students) as part of TS-EUROTRAIN, a Marie Curie Initial Training Network. TS-EUROTRAIN is a multidisciplinary network focused on the study of Tourette Syndrome (TS) and related neurodevelopmental disorders. TS-EUROTRAIN encompasses 12 complementary PhD projects aiming to disentangle the relative contribution of environment and genetics in TS etiology, elucidate the neurobiological underpinnings of TS and related disorders, investigate the mechanism of effect of existing drugs for TS, while at the same time seeking to identify novel druggable targets. Offered fellowships cover a broad range of disciplines, including genetics, bioinformatics, neuroscience, and psychiatry. For a description of each of the available positions and information on how to apply, go to http://ts-eurotrain.eu. A highly competitive salary, and full coverage of social and mobility expenses will be offered.

Eligibility criteria

Required qualifications are posted for each position separately at http://ts-eurotrain.eu . Please pay close attention to requirements and eligibility criteria, as described for each position at our website announcement. The range of disciplines covers many different areas, such as genetics, bioinformatics, computer science, neuroscience, neuroimaging and neurobiology.

The appointment is offered in the context of a Marie Curie Initial Training Network and transnational mobility is a key element of eligibility. Therefore candidates’ eligibility for the post is determined by Marie Curie terms and conditions. At the time of recruitment by the host organisation, researchers must not have resided or carried out their main activity (work, studies, etc) in the country of their host organisation for more than 12 months in the 3 years immediately prior to the reference date (mobility rule). Please note that candidates may indeed be nationals of the host country as long as the mobility rule is observed. Short stays such as holidays and/or compulsory national service are not taken into account. Early Stage Researchers must be (at the time of recruitment by the host organisation), in the first four years (full-time equivalent) of their research careers and not yet have been awarded a doctoral degree. This is measured from the date when they obtained the degree which would formally entitle them to embark on a doctorate, either in the country in which the degree was obtained or in the country in which the research training is provided.

Selection process

Please visit our website for information on how to apply for each position. The application should include a letter of intent, CV, list of publications and names and contact information for two referees. The selection will be made by the project supervisor and co-supervisors of each project, as described for each opening at http://ts-eurotrain.eu . Applicants may be invited to a telephone interview. The positions will remain open until filled.
