Knowledge of Italian language. Applications and CVs sent by e-mail are not accepted. To apply http://www.unige.it/concorsi/assricerca/ The aim of this research activity is to investigate and define an efficient methodology that can be applied since the preliminary design phase of the design process for the identification of the proper ship subdivision (bulkheads and decks) even if many details are unknown (about escape routes or flooding points) in this early phase. The methodology shall avoid to jeopardize the final compliancy with the rules, once the definition of details in the final part of the design permits a more accurate assessment of the safety performance. The study and applications are going to be carried out in the field of megayacht units that for size and physical characteristics represent an application case of superior complexity
