Advanced geotechnical characterisation of structurally complex or anisotropic rocks and FEM/FDM numerical modelling of mechanical behaviour at laboratory and in situ scale - Ref. 405/2012

Please note that the job is no longer active!

The research program is intended to perform laboratory activities and numerical modelling. The laboratory testing program is devoted to the set up and use of advanced equipment (STRA, Soft Rock Triaxial Apparatus e HPTA, High Pressure Triaxial Apparatus) designed for the geotechnical characterization of structurally complex or anisotropic rocks. Within this framework, specific attention is to be given to the saturation procedure and to the management of the back pressure circuit during the drained and untrained stress path applied to the specimens.

Numerical modeling is devoted to the simulation of the mechanical behavior of rocks by means of ordinary and advanced constitutive laws in FEM (Finite Element Method) and FDM (Finite Difference Method) numerical codes both at the laboratory and in situ scales.

Please note that the full description may be available in the national language since some job boards have their own publication policy. Thank you for your understanding!
