This project will contribute to the research on the aesthetics of literature after the proliferation of cultural studies in Anglo-American literary criticism (Soderholm 1997;Clark 2000; Elliott et al. 2002; Weinstein and Looby 2012). Many recent studies by important supporters of cultural studies testify to a renewed interest in the aesthetic dimension of the literary (Attridge 2004; Culler 2007; Eagleton 2012). This project’sobjective is to investigate the possibilities of theorizing a new aesthetic approach toliterature which include the cultural perspective, without falling into a de-contextualizedand de-politicized formalism. This project also aims at providing an overview of the latest studies on the matter and experimenting with new methods of literary analysis.
