Main aims: to assess the role of microevolutionary processes in the formation and long-term maintenance of hotspots of intraspecific biodiversity, and to identify effective practices for the conservation and management of animal populations within these areas.
Using molecular markers, the patterns of population structure and diversity will be investigated in several species.
