In order to obtain polymeric formulations with better performances a new analytical methodology for the characterization of adhesives and paints has been recently studied.
The aim was to better understand the role of the different components of the formulation and their influence on the behavior of the adhesive joint or of paint film. Combinations of analytical techniques have been used for that purpose and a specific extractive procedure has been employed. Now, a new analytical procedure will be studied in order to analyse crosslinking reactions of different copolymers and obtain important information for produce new polymeric formulations. Modified adhesives or paints will be prepared and analysed and their reactivity with different crosslinking agents will be studied using FT-IR and NMR spectroscopies, GC and GC-MS.
