Assessment of the immune regulatory effect of human mesenchymaò stem cells (MSC) in combination with biomaterial in bone defect regeneration.

The project is based on the assessment of the immune regulatory effect of human MSC towards effector cells of both the adaptive (T, B, monocytes, dendritic cells) and innate immunity (NK cells, neutrophils), in presence of biomaterial employed as carrier for MSC transport into bone defect. Different assays will be employed, including tests of proliferation, cytotoxicity, migration and functional activation, as well as immunophenotyping and soluble mediator measurement.
