Development of improved techniques for date palm (Phoenix dactylifera L.) fruits post-harvest and processing phases

Please note that the job is no longer active!

This Department has worked in-depth on the possibility of improving the post-harvest and processing phases of date palm fruits within the framework of different projects developed in Iraq, Egypt and Libya; these activities have pointed out some particular research themes that appear of great interest and usefulness for this sector and have outlined the need for dedicating to them specific resources.

The activities that will be developed concern all aspects of date fruit post-harvest and processing, in addition the work will focus particularly on the editing of a document that describes all date processing phases and on carrying out experiments on alternative techniques for date disinfestation before packaging. These techniques have been identified as irradiation with electromagnetic waves within the radio, microwave and infrared frequencies.

Please note that the full description may be available in the national language since some job boards have their own publication policy. Thank you for your understanding!
