INTERACTION BETWEEN HEPATITIS C VIRUS INFECTION AND LIPID METABOLISM

The aim of this project is to evaluate the biological interaction between HCV replication and lipid metabolism in patients with chronic hepatitis C. Patients must be off treatment, without hyper-dis-lipidemia or any sign of metabolic syndrome, BMI< 26.1. Detailed lipid profile and HCV replication will be assessed and carefully evaluated and correlated in different occasions over a period of 12 months.
