Antinflammatory effects of essential oils

Please note that the job is no longer active!

The effect of single essential oils in healthy mice and in mice with experimental colitis, induced by dextran sodium sulfate, will be assessed. The composition of the inetstinal microbiota will be studied by using a DNA phylogenetic array, starting from feces of animals. In particular we will proceed to the extraction of total microbial DNA, amplification by PCR of the gene 16S rDNA and subsequent hybridization with HTF-Microbi.Array. In parallel, by using immunohistochemistry methods, real time PCR and western blotting, we will inspect the histology of the colon and the expression of key proteins for inflammation, such as cyclooxygenase 2 (COX-2) and tumor necrosis factor alpha (TNF-a).
Finally, the systemic inflammatory framework will be evaluated by using the Luminex method, measuring the major inflammatory cytokines in small blood samples collected ??from the tail vein of mice during treatments.

Please note that the full description may be available in the national language since some job boards have their own publication policy. Thank you for your understanding!
