Analysis and design of Turbo-engine components by using simplified 1-D models. In order to assess the simplified design methodologies, two- and tree-dimensional numerical simulations will be used.
Moreover, computational fluid dynamics methodologies for design, analysis and optimization of aerospace engine components will be developed. Design methodologies should define that aerodynamic configuration realizing some prescribed performances. Analysis methodologies should verify the effectiveness of the obtained configurations and evaluate their performances in other operating conditions than the design one. Optimization process should select the best configurations with respect to various operating conditions.
