The research activity will be focused on a theoretical investigation of mechanisms of optimal control theory in the presence of noisy environments and limited resources. In particular it will be focused on determining “quantum speed limit” bounds on the minimal time it takes a certain transformation to be performed when the system is interacting with an environment which induces decoherence on short timescales. The research will also study the relation between control and system addressability, in particular focusing on the limit imposed by local properties of the control Hamiltonians.
