Green and Sustainable Powertrains - Rif. 368/2012

Please note that the job is no longer active!

The research areas are:

1) Technologies and fuels for carbon footprint and emission reduction in Heavy-Duty and Light-Duty vehicles based on internal combustion engines (ICE):

• new combustion systems (HCCI/partially premixed combustion);

• alternative fuels (CNG, H2/CNG, LPG, biofuels);

• advanced charging systems (turbocharging; variable valve actuation; …);

• advanced injection systems (CNG and gasoline direct injection; high-pressure injection systems for diesel ICEs);

• modeling and diagnostic tools for combustion in multicylinder ICEs;

• feed forward approach for combustion control;

• aftertreatment systems.

2) Thermal hybrid powertrains for road transport:

• energy efficient management of on-board electric and thermal systems;

• strategies for the reduction of ICE emission and combustion noise;

• advanced technologies for high-efficient thermal engines (turbocharging, injection, EGR system, aftertreatment).

Please note that the full description may be available in the national language since some job boards have their own publication policy. Thank you for your understanding!
