The research program aims at studying, implementing and testing on practical problems new algorithms for the characterization of shapes (coded as polygonal meshes or voxelized volumes). Algorithms should derive by promising approaches proposed in recent work by our group related to spectral mesh processing and/or symmetry maps able to capture locally spherical or cylindrical symmetry at different scales and will be applied not only on test data, but also to solve practical problems like quantitative analysis of the human body performed on 3D body scanner data (available thanks to a collaboration with the faculty of Motion and Sport Science and to 3D shapes derived by segmentation of diagnostic imaging data.
Please note that the full description may be available in the national language since some job boards have their own publication policy. Thank you for your understanding!
The competition will be carried out by an evaluation of titles and examination by means of an interview.
To better plan and organise their stay in a foreign European country, researchers and their families can also benefit of the free and personalised assistance offered by the EURAXESS Services Centres, a network of more than 200 centres located in 40 different European countries.
