Development and implementation of a traceability system for certified citrus-plant nursery chain

Please note that the job is no longer active!

The research aims at developing a system for the traceability of material and information flow among the certified citrus-plant nursery chain. The system will be built according to the guidelines contained in the standard UN EN ISO 22005 related to the procedures for tracking and tracing agro-food products. The activities will include both a design phase and an implementation phase. A database will be structured and populated with the information available to the National Service of Voluntary Certification. By means of internet and intranet network, a software component will manage information flow among the computers of the citrus-plant nursery chain centers. The use of traceability system will contribute to the management and processing of information useful within the strategies aiming both at limiting the diffusion of the Citrus Tristeza Virus, and more generally, at boosting competitiveness of citrus industry
