The program is aimed to the design and realization of i) an automatized platform for the manipulation of diagnostics devices (disposable cartridge or card), ii) of the involved single or array devices based on the Lab-on-Chip (LOC) vision. These devices and cartridges will be able to support multiparametric tests according to a high grade of complexity to be scalable with respect to the individual determinations related to the same biological sample. The sensors selected for this aim are in particular mechanical nanobiosensors (cantilevers) and metal/dielectric thin films devices able to couple at their surface Bloch waves highly sensitive to external perturbations and so suitable for biosensing. Concerning both sensors, surface functionalization techniques will be developed in order to enhance sensors selectivity towards the biological species to be detected.
