Next Generation Satellite Communications Systems

The Research activity is focused on the study, design, and assessment of innovative communications techniques and algorithms aimed at dramatically improving the system capacity of next generation satellite communications systems. In particular, the focus will be on new communications paradigms that promise for large improvement in the overall system capacity and total cost reductions such as cognitive spectrum utilization (e.g., Cognitive Radio for SatCom), cooperative techniques, interference management techniques, beamforming and precoding.
