Recycling of waste concrete to produce recycled aggregates to be used in concrete production. Experimental testing and applications in districts of Cagliari and Carbonia-Iglesias.

Please note that the job is no longer active!

The use of waste coming from Construction and Demolition (C&D) of concrete construction in order to produce Recycled Aggregates (RA) is provided for standards. This research aims at defining a positive process for eliminating illegal dumping, reducing mineral processing, recovering waste materials from C & D, optimizing RA production from concrete rubble, improving construction waste management, in the territorial context of Cagliari and Carbonia-Iglesias districts. The researcher will determine and verify AR compliance and performance by developing an experimental methodology which will follow the process of AR production, qualification and use in structural concrete. AR characterization will lead to obtain a qualified product (Marking CE2 +). AR technical compatibility will be compared to that of natural aggregates, to verify economic and environmental sustainability of their use
