Establishment of a fungal strain collection of agro-industrial interest
Please note that the job is no longer active!
The aim of this project is to establish a strain collection of fungi of agro-industrial interest.
It would include fungi having nutraceutical or medicinal interest, fungi producing hydrolytic enzymes (like amylases and cellulases), and fungi producing edible fruiting bodies like porcini, truffles and chanterelles.
Different research activities will be included in the project in order to achieve this aim:
1) isolation of new fungal strains, in particular Trichoderma spp. and edible and nutritional fungi;
2) individuation of new nutrient media;
3) morphological and molecular characterization of the new isolated strains and of the strain in our collection;
4) individuation of the most suitable preservation technology for each fungal species;
5) biological and biochemical characterization of the strains;
The most interesting collected fungal strains and the most significant procedures may be patent.
Please note that the full description may be available in the national language since some job boards have their own publication policy. Thank you for your understanding!
