Genomics tools for durum wheat genetic improvement

Please note that the job is no longer active!

Assegno di Ricerca “Genomics tools for durum wheat genetic improvement” refers to the Project AGER ‘From Seed to Pasta, multidisciplinary approaches for a more sustainable and high quality durum wheat production’. UNIBO-DISTA is involved in the genetic dissection of disease resistance traits, quality, yield and its components and in the development of rapid, reliable and low cost SNP assays for marker-assisted breeding.
The aim is to train a researcher in the molecular breeding area in cereals in general and in particular in durum wheat. The candidate will acquire skillness in the various aspects that are necessary to manage a breeding program based on phenotypic and molecular selection of wheat and will participate to the development and implementation of molecular marker platforms (mainly SNPs) for marker assisted selection. The candidate will also carry out detailed molecular and functional analysis (eg transcription profiling) at candidate genes for the target traits and loci.

Please note that the full description may be available in the national language since some job boards have their own publication policy. Thank you for your understanding!
