Are companies and research institutes from the Basque region coming to a town near you?
A series of events designed to connect Basque researchers and research organisations with those from outside the Basque region will take place throughout the autumn. Organised by the Bizkaia:xede association, events are planned for Barcelona (Spain), Stuttgart (Germany) and Toulouse (France). Promoting the Basque region and forging partnershipsBizkaia:xede is a non-profit association operating under the auspices of the Department of Employment and Training of the Territorial Council of Biscay. It works to retain home-grown talent and draw new talent to the region and boost the knowledge and innovation process already underway. The goal of the events is to attract qualified people from across a range of research sectors to the Basque region. In addition, established Basque companies and research institutes will travel to other parts of Europe so that interested researchers can see what kind of work is being undertaken in the region. Make a note in your diaryScheduled for 17 October, the next event, to be held in Barcelona, will focus on bringing together actors in the bioscience sector. The aim is for Basque companies and researchers to be able to forge partnerships. Moreover, researchers from outside the region will have the opportunity to learn about projects sponsored by the Basque government and create possible links with them. Next on the agenda is Stuttgart on 17 November, and then Toulouse on 21 November. Following the format of the Barcelona event, these events will target the energy and automotive industries, and the aeronautics and space industries, respectively. There is still plenty of time to register for either event: do not hesitate to contact Bizkaia:xede. |
