O inquérito 2013 do Eurobarómetro sobre o clima social na Europa confirma este aumento do conhecimento. Quando foi perguntado se já tinham ouvido falar do FSE, 44 % dos inquiridos responderam que sim, em comparação com os 33 % em 2006.
