The ESF promotes the closer integration of immigrants in Finland with help to find work
Personal career guidance, help to prepare for working life, and company internships – these are just some of the tools the ‘Triangeli’ project is using to help immigrants in Finland to find jobs and integrate into Finnish society. Operating in the city of Turku, the ESF co-funded project has helped 42 poorly-qualified immigrants to find work so far – in kitchens, cleaning services and transport companies. The project coordinators assess immigrant jobseekers’ aspirations, education and skills and then help them identify their training and work experience needs. Working closely with local businesses they then identify suitable job opportunities and internships that are aligned with individual capacities and interests. Launched in 2011, the ‘Triangeli’ is receiving much positive feedback from local employers for its work.
