ESF funding supports networking among immigrant job-seekers in Denmark
Finding a job can prove a difficult task for immigrants. To help, the ‘Welcoming Centre Mors-Thy’ in Denmark held a meeting to promote networking among immigrants. The Centre is managing a three-year project – co-funded by the ESF – which helps businesses in the North Jutland region to find and employ people from immigrant groups. As well as immigrant job-seekers, interested business representatives attended the meeting and heard about networks based around social activities or sports clubs. And immigrants spoke about the difficulties they face – for example, getting a job interview even with a comprehensive CV. The need for the Welcome Centre to include more help with job searching among its activities was a clear outcome of the meeting.
