An ESF project in Romania is helping people with disabilities to join the labour market
People with disabilities are getting an extra helping hand in Călărași, a county in the south east of Romania. The public authorities have kicked off the ‘Turning disability into ability’ project with the aim of bringing more disabled people into the labour market and lowering the risk of social exclusion.
The two-year project will offer counselling to around 200 participants, and some 150 are expected to take up training opportunities leading to qualifications. To create job opportunities, the project will work closely with local companies and employers, as well as setting up a jobs and training database and website.
