Spain is expanding its Aurora programme for offering support to women in rural areas
The city of Caravaca de la Cruz has been selected, along with 12 more Spanish municipalities, to participate in the 'Aurora' programme, promoted by the Institute for Women and co-financed by the ESF. Aurora is improving the social inclusion and job opportunities for women in rural communities, who can face age discrimination or lack qualifications. Through workshops and counselling the programme focuses on skills, expectations and needs in a first phase. It then moves on to building motivation and offering training linked to local labour markets. The Aurora programme has already been launched in 26 Spanish municipalities.
