In Slovenia, an ESF-supported certification process is promoting family-friendly work environments
As part of Slovenia’s drive to promote better working conditions, the Ekvilib Institute has launched its Family Friendly Enterprise Certificate initiative for the seventh year running. According to Ekvilib’s Director, Aleš Kranjc Kušlan, the certificate sets standards in the area of corporate social responsibility by promoting systematic co-operation with employees and the creation of family-oriented working practices for the benefit of all. To date, certification has been awarded to some 140 enterprises covering over 57 000 workers. The initiative is motivated by research showing that certified enterprises can benefit from a reduction in sick leave and workforce fluctuations, along with higher productivity, motivation, satisfaction and commitment of their employees. The Ekvilib Institute is a Slovenian NGO active in the fields of social responsibility and human rights.
