Tried and tested in Sweden

In Sweden, a successful ESF youth employment project is being copied by other towns and regions

The Municipality of Karlshamn in Sweden is launching an ESF co-funded project aimed at unemployed young people and involving six weeks of training followed by a company internship during which they can test out their new skills. Much is expected from the project as it is a copy of a successful similar initiative implemented in the neighbouring Skåne County where, after two years, over 60% of the participants went on to further studies, got jobs or started their own businesses. The new project is being implemented by the Labour Department in Karlshamn together with Bromölla and Olofström municipalities.
