Schoolteachers are being offered ‘cinema skills’ to help them make learning more attractive

In Lithuania, schoolteachers who are prepared to try out new approaches to learning can now acquire the ‘film director’ skills that will enable them to take more visual teaching methods into their classrooms. The ‘I learn from cinema’ project is a three-day ESF co-funded training course in Vilnius where they can study the theory and analysis of cinema as well as key elements of composition – such as camera angles, lighting and sound. They can then apply these new skills to work on set as crew members and make short films based on existing screenplays. To ensure an expert approach, the course is supported by experienced local film directors Lina Luzyte and Tomas Smulkis.
