Romania is helping Roma women to work as healthcare mediators with ESF support
Helping people to find and keep work is a vital issue nowadays, especially when it comes to underprivileged groups. With this in mind, the County Council in Arad, Romania is planning a cooperation agreement with the Roma Association for Healthcare Policies to implement a ‘Healthcare mediation’ project that will offer job opportunities to Roma women. Co-funded by the ESF, this project will also be carried out in other parts of Romania and involves setting up a training and certification centre for healthcare mediators. The purpose is to help 600 Roma women who are already actively involved in healthcare mediation and another 100 women who will be trained as healthcare mediators working for the local authorities.
