People with impaired vision gain ‘physio’ skills in Latvia
On 24 June, people with vision disabilities received professional masseur certificates from Riga Medical College. As part of the professional education programme ‘Physiotherapy’ they have been trained in subjects such as massage therapy in surgery, orthopaedics and traumatology, emergency medical aid and rehabilitation.
All trainees successfully passed their examinations and took part in practical work in the field. The training was co-financed by the ESF within the project ‘Development of social rehabilitation services for persons with vision disabilities in Latvia’. It is intended to give people with impaired vision the skills to find suitable job opportunities.
